Early voting in Sedgwick County starts Monday. Here’s where to cast your ballot

Early voting in Sedgwick County for the 2022 midterm elections begins Monday and runs through Nov. 7.

Registered voters can cast a ballot from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the county election office in the historic courthouse in downtown Wichita at 510 N. Main, Suite 101.

An additional 16 satellite locations will be open to voters from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 1-4 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 5. All Sedgwick County voters can vote at any of these early voting locations.

Election Commissioner Angela Caudillo is encouraging everyone who can to vote early in anticipation of high turnout on Election Day. Sedgwick County saw record turnout in the Aug. 2 primary, when some voters had to stand in line for more than three hours.

“Our resources currently prevent us still from adding more polling locations, so we know that if everybody shows up on Election Day rather than some people voting early, there will definitely be lines in some places,” Caudillo told The Eagle this week.

All voters will be able to cast ballots in the governor’s race and several other statewide contests, a U.S. Senate race, retention votes for six of the seven justices on the Kansas Supreme Court and two proposed constitutional amendments.

Three Sedgwick County commissioners are up for re-election, and Wichita voters will be asked to decide whether or not USD 259 should switch to district-specific school board voting or continue selecting members at-large.

Voters must bring a valid photo ID to the polls.
