Dwayne Johnson has teased he might be about to make a big return to WWE.

The Fast X star, known better to WWE fans as The Rock, dropped the hint on Instagram after meeting a fan via the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Sharing a photo of 15-year-old fan Jayden Harden, Johnson said he was: "Droppin that old school Rock theme music," for him, adding that he was a huge WWE fan.

"Jayden is 15 and he’s awesome!!" Johnson continued. "Jayden’s wish was to meet, 'the People’s Champ'.

"He is a HUUUUUGE ROCK & pro wrestling fan and we had a BLAST chopping up his favourite wrestlers and matches!! I LOVE pro wrestling so my time with Jayden was super dope!

"I told him a little secret that may or may not involve some dude returning to WWE to lay the SmackDown on all their candy asses," he added.

"There’s a lot of negative and toxic noise out there in the world - but there’s a lot of positive, good things too, and Jayden is one of them."

The last time we saw Johnson in a WWE ring was when he made a surprise appearance on SmackDown back in September.

Johnson had been appearing on Pat McAfee's YouTube show earlier that day and decided to head to SmackDown with the former NFL punter that evening to surprise fans.

Meanwhile, Johnson's eldest daughter Simone is currently making waves in WWE's NXT as Ava Raine.

Back in May, Johnson discussed how his daughter's wrestling career has helped mend their relationship and bring them closer together.

"When I had Simone, I was flying by the seat of my pants," he told The Pivot Podcast. " I was wrestling full-time, I started transitioning into movies full-time. I had so much shit going on so I like to say me and Simone grew up together. So we had a relationship where I was always gone but we tried to keep it together.

"Now, years later, as she becomes a pro wrestler, it's actually brought us closer together. So in a way, it's helped save that relationship too. In many ways, pro wrestling has been my family's saviour."
