It would be understandable if Dwayne Haskins isn’t thrilled with his current role with the Washington Football Team.

The former Ohio State Buckeyes star was a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Haskins, a Maryland native, started the final games of the season for Washington in 2019. He then began the 2020 season as the starter, only to get benched for Kyle Allen (and later Alex Smith).

Now, he’s forced to watch from the sideline as Smith pushes Washington toward a playoff berth. But Haskins appears to be doing everything he can to support his teammates, especially Smith.

The former Ohio State Buckeyes star had a cool tweet about his team’s starting quarterback following Monday night’s upset win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“Comeback player of the year Mr. 11. THE Alex Smith,” Haskins tweeted on Monday night.

Washington is playing really good football as of late. The Football Team is coming off a blowout win over the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving and an upset win over the NFL’s only undefeated team on Monday evening.

Ron Rivera’s team is now tied atop the NFC East with the New York Giants. The winner of this division is going to host a playoff game. While neither Washington nor New York will have a great record, they’ll be more than capable of pulling off a Wild Card Round upset.
