Durfee hoop teams roll to 2-0 starts. Top performers (Dec. 11-18)

FALL RIVER — Mya Hayes-Paulette had herself a night on Monday.

The senior forward poured in a game-high 21 points to lead the unbeaten Durfee girls basketball team to a 68-34 win over non-league opponent Seekonk at B.M.C. Durfee High School.

Maggie O'Connell chipped in with 17 points and Maddie Hargraves finished with 15 points.

The Hilltoppers (2-0) travel to Somerset Berkley on Friday night.

Boys basketball

Jayden Espinal netted a team-high 20 points to lead the Hilltoppers to a 85-45 road win over O'Bryant. Davontae Stewart had 15 points and Avonte Lamore ended in double figures with 10 points. Jah Stephenson and Jayden Souza each finished with nine points. Durfee (2-0) hosts Somerset Berkley Friday.

The Cardinals came from behind to beat Westport on the road. Landon Cayton led Case with a team-high 15 points. Cayden Gonsalves netted 14 points. Tyler Costa added eight second half points.

Wrestling

The Hilltoppers dropped a dual meet on the road against Canton, 60-18. Winners for Durfee were Alicia Warren (106), Carlos Gomez (133), Ladaynian Mendes (144) and Kayden Chaney (165).
