As of late, Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, has been stepping up in more ways than one. Of course, her royal workload—and that of her husband Prince Edward—has increased following both King Charles’s and Kate Middleton’s recent health scares. But with each and every royal occasion, the sartorial pressure is on, yet Sophie continues to outdo herself. For example, this military-inspired field jacket from Bally (Sophie’s is sold out, similar here), worn this week to an event in Somerset. As I mentioned, Sophie truly has been dressing to impress at a number of royal occasions in recent months. Last week, it was her two-tone Strathberry handbag that caught my eye; before that, I was searching the internet for anything that closely mirrored her stunning cornflower blue coat. Enter the field jacket: Sophie wore it to a visit at Yeo Valley Farm in Blagdon, where she strolled around the gardens, played with pigs and more.
I especially love her choice to pair it with a floral blouse and A-line skirt. The look felt so polished and work-friendly, but we also love that you could easily mix and match the jacket with slacks or denim, too.
