Who should be the Driscoll Children's Hospital High School Athlete of the Week?

The postseason is well under way for several winter sports and several standout performers are finalists for this week's Driscoll Children's Hospital Caller-Times High School Athlete of the Week.

The Caller-Times is taking weekly nominations and will release a list of finalists for the High School Athlete of the Week each Tuesday.

Students in all varsity sports are eligible to be nominated. The poll will close on Thursday and the winners will be announced Friday each week.

London's Corley Lewallen scored 53 points in two playoff games last week as the Pirates continued their push in Region IV-3A.

West Oso's Malaigha Sweats dropped 27 points for the Bears in a playoff win against Uvalde. Tuloso-Midway's Alex Craig set a state meet record in the 500 freestyle, finished second in the 200 free and earned four medals for the Warriors at the Class 4A UIL State Swim Meet.

Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Monday and can be submitted through email at ctsports@caller.com, by messaging the Caller-Times through its Facebook page, or on Twitter @CallerSports.

This Week's Finalists

• Kyle Barganski, Flour Bluff boys soccer — Barganski scored five goals in a District 29-5A South Zone win against rival Veterans Memorial.

• Alex Craig, Tuloso-Midway boys swimming — Craig finished set a new state meet record in the 500-yard freestyle, finished second in the 200 free and helped the Warriors 200 medley relay and 200 free relay to podium finishes at the Class 4A UIL State Swim Meet.

• Isaiah Deleon, King boys wrestling — Deleon finished third in the 106-pound weight class in Class 5A at the UIL State Wrestling Championships.

• Trevor Jones, Gregory-Portland boys basketball — Jones scored 23 points, including six 3-pointers in the District 29-5A championship game against Veterans Memorial.

• Corley Lewallen, London girls basketball — Lewallen scored 30 points against Edinburg IDEA and 23 points against Goliad in two playoff wins.

• Maggy Moreman, Skidmore-Tynan girls basketball — Moreman scored 43 points in two playoff games for the Bobcats, including six 3-pointers in the area round against Johnson City.

• Aidan Rodriguez, Veterans Memorial boys wrestling — Rodriguez finished third in the 126-pound weight class in Class 5A at the UIL State Wrestling Championships.

• Malaigha Sweats, West Oso girls basketball — Sweats scored 27 points in a bi-district win against Uvalde.
