Drew Barrymore lines up new TV job
Drew Barrymore is set to land a new role on the small screen, with the star reportedly fronting a reboot of a classic game show.
As per Deadline, the actor and talk show host will be a key part of the reboot for Hollywood Squares, which originally ran from 1966 until 2004.
The show features two contestants who answer a series of questions, with each correct answer translating to a move on a larger tic-tac-toe board. Each cube is represented by a celebrity, who is asked questions, with the contestant judging the legitimacy of their answers.

Barrymore will be the iconic "centre square" on the board for the reboot, which will reportedly air in January 2025 on CBS. Barrymore's production company, Flower Films, will be involved with the reboot.
Barrymore, who has starred in Charlie's Angels and The Wedding Singer, began hosting her own talk show in 2020, though received criticism in recent months after she initially stated that she would be airing the show during the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes in Hollywood.
Barrymore subsequently apologised for her prior stance in a now-deleted video clip, saying: "I believe there is nothing I can do or say in this moment to make it okay. I fully accept that, I fully understand that.

"I just want everyone to know my intentions have never been in a place to upset or hurt anyone. That's not who I am. I've been through so many ups and downs in my life, and this is one of them. I deeply apologise to writers, I deeply apologise to unions, I deeply apologise...
"All I can say is that I wanted to accept responsibility. And no, I don't have a PR machine behind this. We aren't going to break rules and we will be in compliance. I wanted to do this because, as I said, this is bigger than me and there are other people's jobs on the line."
Hollywood Squares is expected to air on CBS in January 2025.
