Dream Job: How to Be a Buc-ee's Snack Taster
One lucky Buc-ee's fan will have the opportunity of a lifetime: getting paid to be a snack taster.
FinanceBuzz announced it's looking for the ultimate fan of the beloved rest stop to taste-test 25 of the snacks offered at Buc-ee's, including the Beaver Nuggets, Hippo tacos, sweet and savory kolaches, Buc-ee's Lemon Crisps, banana pudding, biscuits and gravy, Buc-ee's Gummi Bears, fudge, and other of the store's delicious offerings.
The person selected will be paid $1,000, plus a stipend of $250 to cover the cost of the snacks. It's the perfect one-off side hustle for Buc-ee's fans looking for some extra cash while on the road. Applications are due by September 11, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
The treat tester will be picked by Sept. 18 and will be contacted via email. From there, the snacker will have two weeks to try every item from a grocery list put together by FinanceBuzz. You must be 18 or older to participate.
In the announcement, FinanceBuzz noted that opportunity was created as a way to "help people save and spend their money wisely" by listing the top-tier snacks worth purchasing. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Buc-ee's.
For those uninitiated in the Buc-ee's craze, it's a gas station chain with massive stores, where you can purchase a wide variety of snacks while also having your pick of an eclectic mix of attire featuring its mascot, an adorable beaver named Bucky.
Its first location opened in Clute, Texas in 1982, and has since expanded to various states, including Kentucky, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee. There are also new locations opening soon in Louisiana, Alabama, Colorado, Mississippi, and Missouri.
