Dream guard AD Durr done for season with hip injury, to undergo surgery
The Atlanta Dream are shutting down AD Durr for the rest of the season.
The Dream announced Friday that Durr is done for the year in preparation for right hip surgery.

Durr has averaged 10.7 points and 1.9 rebounds in 15 games this season with the Dream. They were traded to Atlanta 10 games into the season from the New York Liberty in exchange for Megan Walker and the rights to Spain’s Raquel Carrera.

Durr hasn’t played since the Dream’s 85-78 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks last week. They underwent a hip surgery during their rookie year, too.
Durr, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 draft, missed the entire 2020 and 2021 seasons after a brutal bout with long-haul COVID-19. Durr first tested positive for the coronavirus in July 2020, and by November of that year doctors told them that they had the “worst case of COVID” they had seen and “the longest long-hauler patient” they’d had among hundreds. Durr was cleared to play again last November.
While Durr's first season back was certainly off to a great start, Durr will now have to wait until next summer.
