Dramatic Rescue Husky Picks the Worst Time for a Classic Husky Tantrum

When my fiancé and I first started dating, it was perfectly clear that he and his Husky were a package deal. Fortunately, our love for dogs was one of the things that brought us together, so now that sweet and silly Husky is my dog, too. Having a Husky at home is way different than it was living with my family dog, a senior cockapoo, but I can appreciate life with both breeds.

It didn't take long for me to learn about classic Husky behaviors, such as talking and throwing tantrums. This breed is vocal and stubborn, after all, and the way they deal with feelings is much more dramatic than other breeds. But I also quickly learned that every Husky owner is in the same boat. Just ask Levi's mom!

Levi is a sassy wooly Husky who keeps his mom on her feet--sometimes literally. On March 15, he chose the worst possible time to throw a tantrum mid-walk, and the resulting video is equally relatable and hilarious.

LOL! This silly guy is stubborn with a capital S. Levi knows his mom isn't going anywhere unless he continues to walk, but he just isn't having it. But then again--neither is she! This dog mom's frustration is palpable by the end of the video, but I wasn't surprised to see that it didn't affect Levi at all.

As commenter @sydneylewis18 reminded her, this rainy day was "the perfect time to sit and watch the rain drops." But of course! Dogs live completely in the present, so now is always a good time to appreciate what's around you. Dogs literally stop to smell the roses (and each other's behinds) all the time!

While I've certainly been in this dog mom's shoes once or twice, I've also learned to embrace the unexpected (or inconvenient) when walking the dog. Getting caught in the rain isn't the end of the world, and having to take a less common route can be a blessing in disguise.

Do Dogs Need Rain Coats?

Although this stubborn Siberian Husky looks handsome in his rain vest, many dogs like him technically don't need it. True, it can help keep the top of his coat dry when walking outside in wet weather, but some dog breeds have double-layered, waterproof coats that naturally repel moisture and keep them warm in the cold. This can get more complicated with long, wooly coats like Levi's though, so he may have just bought himself an extra brushing session when he gets home.

For smaller dogs and dogs with single-layered coats, a rain jacket can be helpful for several reasons. Not only does it keep their body dry, but it can keep them warm, too. It can also be a layer of emotional protection for dogs who are nervous to go outside in the rain, but it can take some trial and error to find the right rain products for your dog. Unfortunately, not even the best raincoat can prevent Husky tantrums like Levi's though!
