Doctor Odyssey: Sean Teale Joins Cast of Joshua Jackson’s ABC Drama

ABC’s Doctor Odyssey is adding another cast member to its staff: Sean Teale (The Gifted, Reign) will be joining Joshua Jackson as a series regular on the upcoming medical drama, TVLine has learned.

No character details for Teale’s role have been released, but we know that Jackson stars as the title character, “whose charms help him get what he wants.” Doctor Odyssey — which has received a straight-to-series order from ABC and is slated to debut this fall — is set aboard a cruise ship, with Don Johnson (Miami Vice) and Phillipa Soo (Shining Girls) also set to co-star.

Ryan Murphy will serve as co-creator and executive producer, re-teaming with FEUD: Capote Vs. The Swans collaborators Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken to pen the script. Additionally, Paris Barclay, another veteran of Murphy productions such as American Horror Story and The Watcher, will direct the pilot.

Teale first broke out on the UK teen drama Skins and then appeared on PBS’ Mr. Selfridge before playing Louis de Bourbon on the CW historical drama Reign. He later starred in Syfy’s futuristic drama Incorporated and played Marcos Diaz, aka Eclipse, on the Fox mutant drama The Gifted. Teale also starred opposite Kaitlyn Dever in the Hulu original film Rosaline.
