Doug McDermott still out; Ben Sheppard and Aaron Nesmith questionable for Tuesday

DALLAS -- Pacers veteran wing Doug McDermott is out for a fourth straight game with a strained right calf with more possibly to come and starter Aaron Nesmith and rookie Ben Sheppard are both listed as questionable on the NBA injury report for the Pacers' game against the Mavericks on Tuesday.

McDermott suffered the calf strain on Feb. 26 and as of Saturday, Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said he hadn't participated in any parts of practice and was simply working on his rehabilitation.

Sheppard missed the last two games with an illness, staying in his hotel room in New Orleans and missing Friday night's game against the Pelicans and Sunday's against the Spurs in San Antonio. Carlisle said Sunday that Sheppard would likely join the team in Dallas if he felt better.

Nesmith's injury is a new listing. He missed four games with a sprained right ankle before returning on Friday night against the Pelicans. He's listed as questionable with a bruised right quad.

Nesmith is averaging 12.4 points per game and he ranks sixth in the NBA in 3-point field goal percentage at .447. Sheppard has averaged 7.6 points per game and shot 50% from 3-point range since seeing his minutes increase following the trade of Buddy Hield that brought McDermott back to Indiana. McDermott has scored 19 points in six games since the trade.
