Dothan woman accused of abusing child
DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A Dothan woman is behind bars after investigators say she abused a child she was responsible for.
According to Lt. Scott Owens, on Wednesday, February 28, detectives received a report from a local school about a child under 18 with visible injuries from apparent abuse.
Lt. Owens said that after an investigation, detectives determined 26-year-old Olivia Thompson had abused the child.
The Lieutenant identified Thompson as a “responsible party” of the child.
Thompson was charged with one count of torture/wilful abuse of a child and was booked into the Houston County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
Due to Alabama’s privacy laws, Dothan Police will release no additional information.
