If the real-life election is proving to stressful, why not escape with a fictional one? Max (formerly known as HBO Max) just debuted The Girls on the Bus, a new series about women who cover politics for very different kinds of news outlets.
Based on the memoir Chasing Hilary by Amy Chozick, The Girls on the Bus stars Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) as a journalist following political candidates during a drama-filled campaign. The show also stars Carla Gugino, Natasha Benham, Christina Elmore, and Brandon Scott. Despite the title of the memoir its based on, the show is not 100 percent about Hillary Clinton. The candidates are all fictional in this adaptation. If that's not enough to tempt you, the showrunner is none other than Julie Plec of The Vampire Diaries, Legacies, The Originals, etc. While there isn't any supernatural goodness on The Girls on the Bus, you know you can trust Julie Plec with adaptation and with the drama.
So when does The Girls on the Bus premiere?
The Girls on the Bus premieres on March 14 (Pi Day!) with two episodes. Subsequent episodes will drop once a week on Max every Thursday until May 9. That's easy as, dare I say it, pie.
How many episodes of The Girls on the Bus are there?
There will be ten episodes in total. That's pretty standard for an HBO series, and with the growing popularity of six and eight-episode seasons, a relief! I'll take what I can get, but television is supposed to stick around for a while, ya know?
When does the next episode of The Girls on the Bus drop?
You'll have to wait until March 21 to get the next episode of The Girls on the Bus once you catch up on the pilot and second episode, which both dropped on March 14.
