Donald Trump Jr. tweet from 2016 mocking Clinton impeachment comes home to roost

A tweet and an alleged old flame came back to burn Donald Trump Jr.

Singer and former “Celebrity Apprentice” participant Aubrey O’Day piled onto the Twitter storm that began this week after a 2016 tweet from Trump Jr. mocking Bill and Hillary Clinton resurfaced.

The tweet from Trump reads: “Dear Clintons, You know what’s deplorable? Being Impeached!!!!”

That dig came weeks before Donald Trump Sr. and Hillary Clinton went head-to-head in the 2016 election. It was a reference to Clinton calling Trump supporters a “basket of deplorables.”

O’Day re-posted that tweet and wrote to Trump Jr., “When your sh-t talking comes back for a visit, or in this case... an extended stay.”

Bill Clinton became the second U.S. president to be impeached in 1998 on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice. The senate unsuccessfully voted to censure him.

President Trump was impeached for the second time in two years this week following a violent uprising at the U.S. Capitol last week that the House of Representatives charged him with inciting. He’d previously been indicted for pressuring a foreign leader for dirt on a political opponent. The president has denied any wrongdoing.
