Don’t want to cook on Christmas? Here’s where you can eat in Miami on the holidays

There are two sorts of people in the world: Those who long to cook Christmas dinner for family and friends — and those who would rather have someone else do the work.

If you fall into the latter group, do not be ashamed. And don’t worry — many Miami restaurants are happy to do the cooking for you (and the clean-up, too).

Here’s a list of some of the Miami restaurants offering holiday specials; tax and gratuity are not included in the prices listed.

Americana Kitchen at Loews Coral Gables Hotel

Enjoy a Christmas Day brunch at the newest hotel in the Gables, with traditional breakfast fare, a waffle and Benedict bar, a raw bar with sushi, herb-crusted prime rib, butternut squash ravioli and more.

Bourbon Steak

Enjoy a prix fixe menu that includes appetizers like the chef’s oyster selection, tuna tartare and spicy beef lettuce cups and such entrees as filet mignon, veal chop, and ahi tuna. All are accompanied by a trio of farm fresh side dishes of truffle mac and cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, and classic creamed spinach.

This new Italian spot from New York’s Major Food Group in the Design District is serving a four-course Italian meal with the signature meatballs aldo, ricotta gnudi, roasted turkey, spicy lobster rigatoni and more, plus dessert choices like pumpkin ice cream and Boston cream pie.

The Drexel

This Mediterranean restaurant on the corner of historic Española Way and Drexel Avenue in Miami Beach offers a deal on Christmas dinner: whole organic roasted chicken with green salad, mashed potato, haricot vert and fruit crumble pie, which feeds up to four guests.

Isabelle’s Grill Room & Garden

This garden oasis in The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove offers a five-course menu that starts with roasted chestnut soup, moves on to glazed scallops and beet and citrus carpaccio. Entree choices include spiced cherry-rubbed tenderloin, bacon-wrapped duck or a sweet potato steak. Chestnut sponge or Black Forest cake rounds out the evening. There’s also a Christmas Day brunch buffet from 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. for $145 per adult, $55 per child.

Kaia Greek

Treat yourself to this all-you-can-eat brunch in Midtown, with eggs, breakfast meats, pancakes, bagels, fruit and more. Ala carte offerings include a seafood tower, oysters and chicken and waffles.

Located in Pinecrest, South Florida’s only Peruvian prime steakhouse offers a special Christmas Eve menu featuring baked oysters, charred Caesar salad and crispy Brussels sprouts, plus entrees like prime rib, roast pork chop and sea bass and sides.

Red Rooster Overtown

This Southern-style restaurant from Marcus Samuelsson offers a family-style prix fixe menu with highlights like collards and cabbage, sweet potato casserole, mac and cheese, shrimp and desserts like red velvet macaroons. Whatever you do, don’t skip the cornbread with jalapeño butter.

R House

Enjoy the holiday season at this popular Latin-inspired spot’s drag brunch, hosted by Athena Dion. The family-style menu includes bottomless mimosas, white wine sangria and mojitos, with a menu that includes cayenne fried chicken, a Cuban breakfast croissant with mojo pork, ham, cheese and scrambled eggs and cinnamon sweet French toast.

Sérêvène at Hotel Greystone

Searching for something beyond the usual for Christmas Eve? Head to the Hotel Greystone for a five-course French and Japanese-inspired izakaya menu from executive chef Pawan Pinisetti, accompanied by live jazz. The prix fixe menu includes crispy fried quail tossed in sweet chili, octoo fritto with Japanese curry, and the chef’s take on chicken-and-a-crustacean. For $49 an ounce, add black truffles shaved tableside or a curated wine pairing ($49).
