The Dolphins ruled out wide receiver River Cracraft for Sunday’s road game against the Detroit Lions because of a neck injury. The team also elevated rookie safety Verone McKinley III and rookie wideout Braylon Sanders from the practice squad for the game.

Cracraft was added to the injury report Saturday after practicing fully throughout the week. He has two catches for 13 yards and two touchdowns this season.

It’s the third and final elevation for McKinley, who made his NFL debut in the Dolphins’ Week 7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played 18 defensive snaps and made one tackle. McKinley is expected to take on a larger role with safety Brandon Jones out for the season because of an ACL injury. After this elevation, the Dolphins must sign McKinley to the 53-man roster or place him on waivers after a subsequent elevation before re-signing him to the practice squad.

It’s the first elevation for Sanders, an Ole Miss product who impressed during training camp and could make his NFL debut Sunday.
