Who should Dolphins take on Day 2 of NFL Draft 2024? Here are players to watch

MIAMI GARDENS - The Dolphins have the 23rd pick of Round 2 of the NFL Draft, 55th overall.

That is, unless general manager Chris Grier finds a way to move up.

The Dolphins could really use a guard, defensive tackle, offensive tackle or perhaps a receiver or safety in Round 2 on Friday, which begins at 7 p.m. Eastern.

Miami does not have a pick in Round 3 this year due to NFL tampering findings.

The Dolphins could look into trading a 2025 pick - they're in line to be adding a few compensatory picks after losing pricey free agents - in order to move up or to secure a second pick on Day 2.

Here are some players who seem to be a natural fit for Miami:

NFL draft best available players Rounds 2 or 3

Jer'Zhan "Johnny" Newton, DT, Illinois

Penetrating pass rusher who could help fill void of Christian Wilkins.

Braden Fiske, DT, Florida State

Disruptive bull rusher who would form a nice duo with Zach Sieler.

Kris Jenkins, DT, Michigan

Powerful run-stopper is son of long-time NFL player Kris.

Christian Haynes, G, UConn

Smart and powerful team captain is Miami scheme fit.

Cooper Beebe, G, Kansas State

Tough bulldozer should start right away.

Brandon Coleman, G/T, TCU

Tackle experience but projects to guard. Solid in pass pro.

Javon Bullard, S, Georgia

Could complement Jevon Holland as strong or third safety.

Tyler Nubin, S, Minnesota

Rangy, instinctual play-maker.

Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State

Would add size, physicality to Miami's WR room.

Ja'Lynn Polk, WR, Washington

Could be a red zone and third down target for Miami.

Jalen McMillan, WR, Washington

Slot target who could also make positive impact in run game.

Blake Fisher, T, Notre Dame

Athletic and strong tackle who could also play guard.

Roger Rosengarten, T, Washington

Solid pass blocker with some punch.

Kingsley Suamataia, T, BYU

Massive man needing to add polish.

Ja'Tavion Sanders, TE, Texas

This would be a bit of a luxury pick, but Sanders could make an impact.
