The Academy of Country Music is returning to North Texas for its 59th awards ceremony this spring.

This year’s festivities will take place on May 16 at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco. The annual awards show celebrates the biggest country music artists and songs of the last year.

Frisco is gearing up to host the ceremony for a second year in a row.

“Frisco really turned out to be a great home for us last year,” said Damon Whiteside, Academy of Country Music CEO.

While last year went “fantastic,” Whiteside told reporters at a virtual press conference Monday that questions were raised about hosting the ceremony in a city many artists weren’t familiar with.

However, those worries were quickly put to bed as preparations began between the ACM, city of Frisco and Dallas Cowboys. All parties were accommodating of the ceremony, including the Cowboys who “rolled out the red carpet” for the ACM team at The Star, Whiteside said.

Now in its second year in a row at the same venue, could last year’s hosts Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks return for 2024’s show?

“We’re not at that place yet to talk about the hosts,” Whiteside told the Star-Telegram. “I would just say, never say never.”

Additional information on hosts, nominees and performers will be announced in the months leading up to the May 16 awards ceremony.

Fans can, however, get tickets to the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards as soon as this week.

Tickets for ACM A-list subscribers go on sale Wednesday and to gain access, fans can sign-up for a newsletter to get a pre-sale code. Tickets for the general public will go on sale via Seat Geek at 10 a.m. Friday.

For those who can’t make the Frisco-set ceremony in-person, it will be available to stream on Prime Video.

“Now that we’ve gotten to know the city of Frisco a little bit better and where everything is, we can navigate it even better this year,” Whiteside said.
