Dog Mom's Crafty Solution for Walking Chihuahua Mix Without a Leash Is Priceless

Some dog owners don't have a huge collection of dog leashes. In fact, some dog owners only have one. And speaking from experience, this one single leash is pretty easy to misplace. You either forget where you took it off your dog, or leave it in your car, or even worse, at a friend's house.

Well, one dog mom had to get pretty creative when it came time to walk her dog and she couldn't find their leash. And when I say creative, I mean you can't get much more crafty than this.

The hilarious video was uploaded by the TikTok account for @Theplugsbabymomma and so many other dog owners can relate. One person commented, "10 points for still taking her out and 10 points for not doing it off leash!" Awwww. Someone else replied, "One time I had to use my purse strap." Someone else added, "She’d like let’s just get this embarrassment over with mom." Another person responded, "I’ve had to use a shoe lace tied to another shoe lace." LOL! So much creativity! Someone else said, "I've used a phone charger." Other users have used things like bathrobe belts, hair straighteners, and even tying plastic grocery bags together!

In addition to, you know, always keeping your leashes in the same spot or hanging them on your wall, you could also hide an emergency backup leash in a closet somewhere.

We all know how important it is to take our dogs on walks. Not only do they have to relieve themselves outside, but walks stimulate your dog's brain, provide them with exercise, and gives them a chance to sniff, which is super beneficial to a dog's wellbeing.

Here are a few different leashes and why to use them.

Pull tabs or traffic leads: You can get pull tabs (also called traffic leads) in lengths anywhere from three to four inches all the way up to about 18 to 20 inches.

Pull tabs are great for dogs that are transitioning to off-leash behavior and dogs that already know how to heel.

Long Lines: Long lines are awesome. They come in many lengths (anywhere from ten or 15 feet to 20 or even 30 feet) and can be a very helpful training tool. The main reason to use a long line is to help teach recall. They can also be used if you're at a park and you want to let your dog run, but still keep them leashed.
