Dog Mom Shares Funny Comparison of Having Both a Rescue and Breeder Pup

The debate between adopting pets or buying them from a breeder is a tough one. No matter where you stand on the issue, there might be a real tangible difference. Just take a veterinary nurse named Eve, who recently shared the difference between her rescue and the dog she paid for — and they're hilariously in-character.

You can definitely see what Eve was talking about in the video she posted on TikTok.

Now it's assured that Eve loves both her dogs equally. But every mom knows that her children have their different strengths and weaknesses.

Eve first showed her Whippet Mabel who was a bit of the pricy side — like over two thousand dollars. "I know that's expensive, but I was lonely, okay? Leave me alone," she joked.

Some fun facts about Mabel — she's afraid of the wind, long car rides, she won't eat dog food, and she's allergic to chicken.

"She has to sleep in my bed and if I try and make her sleep on the floor, she cries in my face all night," Eve explained. Even in the video, it seems like Mabel can't get close enough to her mama.

As for Eve's other dog, Lenny. Well...Lenny is a whole other story.

"This dog, I got him for free," Eve said. "He is not scared of anything . And he'll eat anything — dog food, human food, veg." Yep, Lenny is the complete opposite of Mabel.

"I love them both equally but Mabel is the princess who requires a specific environment to survive… Lenny is oblivious and could survive anywhere," she joked in the caption.

People online couldn't stop laughing. "Awww she's got herself an emotional support human," one person joked, speaking of Mabel. "I love your dogs, my mum got a Blue Whippet she scared of everything and she is just the same as yours haha," a second person shared. "Girl math says between the two of them you actually spent $800 each so that's a discount actually," a third person joked.

Adopting Dogs From Shelters or Rescues

There are so many dogs out there that need a good home. But if you have the ability to adopt, you really should. Animals at rescues or pet shelters are often overlooked. Adopting one of these animals can really change their lives.

First things first, do some homework before heading to the shelter. Be very honest with yourself — do you have kids? Are you super active or would you prefer a dog that's more low-key? Do you have time to walk your dog several times a day? These questions will help you figure out what kind of dog you're looking for.

Then you'll want to hit up your local animal rescues. There will be tons of options! If you can't find the perfect pet right away, don't be discouraged. A shelter or rescue can even connect you with a reputable breeder to help you on your search. Each rescue will have its own protocol when it comes to adoption. So as long as you follow their instructions, you'll be able to bring your new family member home.

As any pet owner will tell you finding the perfect pet match is a little tricky, but totally worth it. You'll never know when you'll find an animal that can completely change your life.
