When do college football games start?
The first week, also known as Week Zero, kicks off on Aug. 24. The limited slate of games will feature many Division I teams, according to the NCAA.

Bowling Green is the first Ohio team to start its college football season
The Falcons have the distinction of being the first Ohio school to start the 2024 college football season.
They host Fordham at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29. ESPN+ will air the game.
When does Toledo football start its 2024 college football season?
The Rockets are one of the first teams to kick off their 2024 season. They host Duquesne at the Glass Bowl in their season opener on Aug. 29. Game time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN+
Ohio State football starts its season against another Ohio school
The perennial contender Buckeyes, ranked No. 2 in the preseason AP poll, face Akron in the season opener at 3 p.m. ET on Aug. 31. The home game at Ohio Stadium will be broadcast on CBS.
Cincinnati football opens at home on August 31
The Bearcats have two home games at Nippert Stadium to start the season. They host Towson at 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 31 in the first contest of the season. ESPN+ will televise the game.
When does college football season start for Kent State?
The Golden Flashes start the 2024 season on the road at Pittsburgh. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Aug. 31 in downtown Pittsburgh. ESPNU will broadcast the game.
Kent State's first home game is slated for Sept. 7 at 2:30 p.m.
When does the college football season start for Ohio University?
The Bobcats travel to upstate New York to face Syracuse in their 2024 season opener on Aug. 31. Kickoff at the Carrier Dome is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET. ACC Network will broadcast the game.
Miami football kicks off at Northwestern on August 31
Miami University football faces Northwestern in the 2024 season kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET on Aug. 31. The Big Ten Network will air the game, and it might be beautiful viewing: Northwestern is playing at Martin Stadium, right next to Lake Michigan, as it overhauls Ryan Field.
