Dodds urges Rangers to seize 'brilliant opportunity' for title lifeline

Former Rangers striker Billy Dodds has challenged the Ibrox side to make the most of their "last throw of the dice" when they go to Celtic Park on Saturday.

Philippe Clement's side are second in the Premiership, three points and five goals behind Celtic with just three games remaining.

Dodds says Rangers still have a "brilliant opportunity" to win the title, despite costly recent slip-ups against Ross County and Dundee.

“Celtic are favourites at home, favourites because of where they are mentally and getting their players back," Dodds told Sky Sports.

“It’s still a brilliant opportunity to win it for Rangers. I know they’ve let it slip with the Ross County and Dundee games but there’s a chance where it’s all in.

“That’s the way it feels. Go and win it at Parkhead, it’s their last throw of the dice.

“I’ve got a feeling it won’t be as straightforward as people think.”

Another title-winning striker with Rangers - Jermain Defoe - is backing Clement's team to get the job done.

"When you've played for [Rangers] and understand the importance of the Old Firm and winning the league, you always have to be positive," the former England striker said.

"In those sort of games, form goes out of the window. I believe they can do it with this squad and this manager.

"It's going to be an interesting finish [to the season], and if they can do it, it will be amazing."
