DMX's Son Plays Late Rapper's 'X Gon' Give It To Ya' on Piano

Stop, drop and watch DMX's 6-year-old son throw it down on the piano to honor his late father on what would have been his 53rd birthday.

The late rapper's fiancée, Desiree Lindstrom, took to Instagram on Monday and shared a sweet video of Exodus playing the 2002 classic "X Gon' Give It to Ya." Before playing the banger on the piano, Exodus looks in to the camera and proclaims, "I'm gonna play my daddy's son, 'X Gon' Give It to Ya.'"

Exodus, the youngest of DMX's 17 children, then starts playing the instantly recognizable chord featured in his greatest hits album, The Definition of X: The Pick of the Litter. The track's also featured on the Cradle 2 the Grave soundtrack.

"Happy Birthday Earl! Thinking of you always, but especially today," Lindstrom captioned the post. "You was New York!!! Exodus tribute to you! (X gonna give it to ya) We love you baby! #ForeverX."

Swizz Beatz, a longtime DMX friend and collaborator, dropped a comment praising the little one.

"Let’s gooooooo Kinggggggg❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌."

It's not the first time Exodus has honored his late father with his deft piano skills. He did exactly that in June when he performed the 1998 classic "Ruff Ryders' Anthem."

Lindstrom captioned that post, "Ya'll should of known it was coming. A small tribute to his daddy!"

The four-time GRAMMY nominee died in April 2021. He was 50. Prior to his death, DMX, whose real name was Earl Simmons, had been rushed to the hospital after suffering a heart attack. Thousands paid tribute to the late rapper at his memorial service in Brooklyn.

Nearly two months after his death, DMX's eighth studio album, Exodus, was released posthumously, with the help of Swizz Beatz.

"My brother X was one of the most pure and rare souls I’ve ever met. He lived his life dedicated to his family and music," Beatz shared on Instagram in May 2021. "Most of all, he was generous with his giving and loved his fans beyond measure. This album, X couldn’t wait for his fans all around the world to hear and show just how much he valued each and every single person that has supported him unconditionally."
