Disney+ confirms Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 streaming date
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 spoilers follow.
Marvel Studios has confirmed when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will be available to stream on Disney+.
It was both a critical and commercial success, having grossed over $842 million worldwide and securing a 82% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The film, which stars Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldaña, will arrive on the Disney streaming service on August 2.

The streaming confirmation comes after the recent announcement of Guardians of the Galaxy 3's digital and Blu-ray releases. Vol 3 became available through major digital retailers on July 7 while Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD and DVD versions of the threequel will drop on August 1.
The physical release will also feature never-before-seen content from the film, as well as audio commentary by director James Gunn, a gag reel and two featurettes.
The synopsis for the film reads: "In Marvel Studios’ 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere. But it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past.
"Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life—a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them."

In a recent interview, Gunn revealed that Gamora (played by Saldaña) was almost killed in Vol 2.
"Gamora was going to die originally in Vol 2 [in 2017], and then we talked about it happening in Infinity War and that worked better for the story," the filmmaker said.
"But the rest of them, I always knew where they were going. I knew that the whole trilogy is about Rocket, who we think of as a supporting character, becoming the captain of the Guardians."
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will arrive on Disney+ in August. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1 and Vol 2 and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special are available to watch on the platform now.
