‘Dirty soda’ chain is planning yet another location in Johnson County. Here’s where

Utah-based “dirty soda” chain Swig is looking to open another location in Johnson County.

The company — which sells carbonated drinks enhanced with cream, syrup, candy and other add-ins — filed an application to open a location in the Quivira Crossings shopping center at 135th Street and Quivira Road in Overland Park.

Previously, Swig told The Star that it would build six drive-thrus this year at the following locations:

  • The southwest corner of Coronado Road and Sunnyside School Road in Blue Springs

  • 6900 West 91st St. in Overland Park

  • 5959 Barkley St. in Mission

  • 400 N.W. Chipman Road in Lee’s Summit

  • Near U.S. 69 and West 159th Street in Overland Park

  • Northeast 96th Street and Cookingham Drive in Liberty

Swig did not respond to The Star’s requests for updates on when those locations would open.

Swig has dozens of locations in Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Arkansas and Oklahoma.

Its first Kansas location is set to open in Wichita next week.

In June, Chief Operating Officer Chase Wardrop told The Star that Overland Park was one the most requested cities for Swig.

“We’re very excited about the market,” Wardrop said. “There’s a demand there and lots of brand recognition.”

Swig’s drink menu includes the Raspberry Dream (Dr Pepper, raspberry puree and coconut cream), Beach Babe (Mountain Dew, raspberry, peach and vanilla cream) and Poppin’ Pineapple (Sprite, pineapple, watermelon and strawberry popping pearls).

The chain also sells cookies, pretzel bites and frozen hot chocolate.
