Did You Know These Two 'When Calls the Heart' Actors Are Engaged?
Fans of When Calls the Heart know a thing or two about passionate love stories. So, it shouldn't come as a surprise that two of the actors in the cast might feel that spark with each other in real life. 😉
That's exactly what happened between the actors who play Nathan and Fiona, Kevin McGarry and Kayla Wallace.
While their characters never had a romantic connection on the show, McGarry and Wallace still seemed to be feeling the love, and it's seriously the cutest thing ever.
To refresh, McGarry takes on the role of Nathan, the current love interest of Elizabeth Thornton (Erin Krakow), after years of an on-and-off kinda fling. Wallace plays Fiona, a beloved character who hasn't received any screen-time in season 11 so far, but is still an integral part to the storyline leading up 'til now.
With that said, the on-screen chemistry between their characters may have not been there—but that hardly matters. McGarry and Wallace are indeed a couple, and there are plenty of heartfelt receipts to prove it. (It's a real life Hallmark love story!) As you might have expected, the two met over in Hope Valley! Both McGarry and Wallace joined the When Calls the Heart cast during season 6 of the show in 2019, but they kept any sort of interest in each other or relationship pretty tight lip from the public. So, as far as anyone knows, nothing was going on between the two at all. 😉

It wasn't until November of 2020 that the two made it official. The two shared the news of their relationship with a photo on Instagram. Fans got a glimpse of a few of cute polaroids of the two spread across a table.
In Kevin's post, he wrote a simple, but telling caption: "Photo evidence. 📸"
That'll do it! Fans, as you can imagine, gleamed with joy in the comments.

As if they couldn't get any cuter, the two eventually went on to costar in some romantic Hallmark Channel movies. The first one was Feeling Butterflies (March 2022) and My Grown-Up Christmas List (July 2022) In both movies, the two played couples—and for those who haven't seen the films, the chemistry was definitely there. (Couples who act together stay together, apparently!)

They did indeed! In December 2022 (just mere days before Christmas), the two announced their engagement with an Instagram Reel of them sharing a kiss. But before the kiss was even seen, it was the shiny new rock on Wallace's ring finger that caught fans attention. Yep, that's an engagement ring alright.
