Did Farmer Brandon pick Wisconsin sweetheart Grace Girard on the 'Farmer Wants a Wife' season finale?

Warning: Spoilers ahead from Episode 13 of Fox's "Farmer Wants a Wife" Season 2 that aired Thursday, May 9, 2024.

Wisconsin sweetheart. Badger. Packers fan. Family gal. Communications associate. Cheese curd connoisseur. Dive bar enthusiast. And after last night, "Farmer Wants a Wife" winner.

That's right, we're talking about Caledonia's own Grace Girard.

Down to his final two daters, Farmer Brandon Rogers chose Girard during Thursday's season finale of the Fox reality TV dating show.

"I'm mostly just excited to be in the real world with Brandon and get to know you more," Girard said standing next to her farmer at the end of the episode.

"I think, for me, I'll just be excited to see what comes next," said Rogers, who has a potato and barley farm in Center, Colorado.

The three other Season 2 farmers made their final decisions as well. And one? A complete shocker.

"Everything that's been done in this search for love had led to this big, final moment," host and country star Jennifer Nettles said on the show. "It's decision time for all our farmers. At the start of this journey, they invited five women to live on their farms in the hope that they would find true love. And now, it's time to pick the one lady they believe they have a future with — and see if she'll say yes."

Rogers was up first right out of the gate.

Here's a recap of how the finale went down for him, Girard and her co-finalist Emerson Sears, a college counselor from Elkhart, Iowa. Plus, who the other farmers ended up choosing:

The season recap showed a whole lot of Farmer Brandon Rogers and dater Grace Girard

The episode began with a quick overview of the season. Did anyone else notice how it had a whole lot of Girard and Rogers?

It showed: Their hug when Rogers initially invited Girard back to his farm. Rogers encouraging Girard when she was conquering her fear of heights to help with the farm's irrigation system. And, that kiss — you know the one — in the bed of his pickup truck.

Oh, and also Girard saying, "Nice to meet you," to Sears when Rogers invited her back to the farm partway through the process (insert grinning face with sweat emoji here).

Farmer Brandon goes to his best friend, his dad, ahead of the decision. And, you're going to need Kleenex.

In a solo interview, Rogers called the experience "unbelievable." He went from being "super-single," living in a big house alone in the middle of nowhere, to asking someone to be the person he spends the rest of his life with.

With this massive decision at hand, Rogers went to his best friend: His dad, Keith, who knows him and what he's looking for in a partner.

"If one of these girls happens to be the one, it's asking a lot of them to kind of give up everything they're used to to embark on something different and new," Rogers confided in Keith.

Keith agreed that it's a big, big commitment and told his son to make sure that the person he picks is someone he could see as a best friend.

With Girard and Sears being "so amazing," Rogers said he didn't want to hurt either of them.

Keith understood that. While Rogers was taught to treat others as he wants to be treated, Keith said, he has to be totally honest with himself, too.

"This decision will be from your heart and I have 100% confidence that you will make the right decision," Keith said, getting emotional. "And no matter who you pick, I will love them very much."

In a cutaway, Keith — fighting back tears — said he wants his son to find a wife/companion, and to have a family "so much."

"I really love him," Keith said.

Kleenex me, please.

Farmer Brandon's thoughts ahead of the decision

Awaiting his daters' arrival at the farm, Rogers — in a voiceover — described his connection with Girard as really strong and deep.

"But, Grace really loves her family and she's very attached to Wisconsin," he said.

Honestly, who wouldn't be? You saw it for yourself, Brandon.

Shifting gears to Sears, Rogers said she's smart and that the two have a lot of fun together. Plus, she's down for living that small-town life, being from one herself.

Grace Girard's and Emerson Sears' thoughts ahead of the decision

Both Girard and Sears were shown separately in vehicles on their way to Rogers.

"I'm feeling optimistic about love," Girard said. "I do think that there's a chance that Brandon and I end up in love together. I could see myself picking up my life and moving here for him and having our own little world here together."

To do that, all she needed was a "yes" from him, she said.

"Love to me is finding that deep connection with somebody and becoming their best friend," Sears said. "Brandon could definitely be that person. I hope that Brandon does choose me in the end. It would make me feel really happy."

How Farmer Brandon Rogers gently let down dater Emerson Sears

"Hey, Brandon," Sears said as she walked up to Rogers.

"Hi," he said with a hug. "It's been a while."

Sears showed herself to be a "powerful, strong-minded and strong-willed woman" when she was up for joining in the middle of the process, Rogers told her. And, she helped him grow as a person.

Their connection started with bonding over being from small-town farming communities, Rogers said.

"This journey for us, you know, has meant a lot to me," he told Sears. "And, it's very important and something that I've really enjoyed getting to know you. The time on the farm, how you've carried yourself, your intentions and who you are as a person has been very attractive to me."

But, emotionally, he hadn't been able to connect "super-deeply" with her.

"I just see that this is where our journey ends," he said.

"I came out here for one reason and one reason only: To find love," Sears replied.

"You're an amazing woman," he told her.

"You're a great guy," she said as the two hugged. "Bye."

In a confessional, Sears said that's not what she wanted to hear. Having a connection with Rogers "right off the bat," she said, it sucks to not be able to explore it further.

"I will never know what would've happened if I had more time," she concluded.

Farmer Brandon Rogers chose Grace Girard. And, she chose him right back.

As Girard approached Rogers, he smiled. When she reached him, he asked her how it was going, and the two embraced.

"Here we are," Rogers said to Girard. "We've been through quite the journey."

"We have," Girard concurred.

While Rogers was "cocky" going into the experience, it turned "very real" for him.

Girard brought "a sense of peace" to the farm and was very steady, patient and calm throughout the experience, Rogers said.

But, as he's gotten to know her, he's seen how close she is with her family, and how she thrives on being in a city and being able to go out and enjoy her friendships.

"So, for me, it's very concerning to bring you into this situation," Rogers told Girard. "We are in the middle of nowhere. It's really heavy on my heart and it's very stressful."

On the other hand, there are a lot of upsides and good things about their relationship, he said.

"I really feel like we have established a really good emotional connection," Rogers told her. "So, I would like to see where that emotional connection would take us."

"I feel like you came into my life for a reason," Girard responded. "You've made a positive impact on me, and have really shown me what it means to be a man who's a really good guy and really genuine and in touch with himself and his emotions. And, I feel like we've been through a ton."

During Girard's speech, the pair went back-and-forth between laughter and tears.

"I appreciate all that you've done to ground me throughout this whole process," Girard told him. "And, I feel like you've done that more than you know — and you're really good at that. So, I don't want to lose you and I would love to see where this goes."

"Absolutely," Rogers said as the two held one another.

'You're never going to get rid of me': Farmer Brandon Rogers' and Grace Girard's post-decision interview

After the decision, the adorably giddy couple did a joint confessional.

"I'm super-excited, I'm super-happy and I can breath again," Rogers said. "I'll be able to sleep at night."

Girard seconded that with a laugh.

"If you can't tell that my cheeks are a little sore from smiling, you're not paying enough attention," Rogers said as Girard's laughter continued.

Girard said she's ecstatic to see where the next step takes them.

"You're never going to get rid of me," she said to her farmer.

"That's a good problem," he replied.
