Dick Vitale was thoroughly impressed with the Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday night. KU handled Villanova from wire-to-wire. Pulling away in the end, 81-65, on their way to the NCAA championship game.

Vitale took to his Twitter after the game to share his thoughts on Kansas’ outstanding night.

“The Kansas Jayhawks have so many contributors,” the legendary sportscaster noted. “McCormick inside /AGBAJI shooting 3 ball/ Braun makes big plays / Wilson rebounds / Harris distributes the rock / did good job on star Gillespie & made him work to get a tough 17.”

“KANSAS 81 – VILLANOVA 65! Will it be Duke or UNC vs Kansas?” Dickie V asked.

Every time Villanova maybe tried to make a run, Bill Self’s team had an answer. Now after knocking off the No. 2 Wildcats, the Jayhawks are on their way to their 10th national championship appearance in program history.

Vitale had some kind words for Villanova after the tough loss as well.

“Tip the hat to the fierce competitor & winner [Villanova’s] COLLIN GILLESPIE … I wish him the best in his future . When he decides to stop playing I believe he is going to be a helluva coach.”

It’s great to see Dick Vitale so active after all he’s been through this past year. We know he’ll be tuning in for tonight’s headliner between Duke and UNC.
