Dick Vitale Not Happy With 1 College Football Game Yesterday

Dick Vitale is known for his college basketball fandom, but the longtime ESPN analyst pays close attention to college football, too.

On Saturday, the University of Miami improved to 2-2 on the season with a blowout win over Central Connecticut.

The U throttled the lesser program, 69-0.

Vitale does not like seeing games like that.

Having kids humiliated , physically & emotionally whipped for a payday is sickening. Yes Miami whips Central Connecticut State as Miami must feel great as they won 69-0 ! How does this help anybody but the cash register?” he tweeted.

That’s a fair point, though it happens a lot in college basketball, too. However, college basketball is not nearly as physically grueling as college football.

“Not the same due to the physical nature of the sports,” Vitale added.

It would be nice for games like this to be avoided in college football. However, until the sport’s scheduling model changes drastically, we’re going to get them.
