Diablo 4’s First Expansion Is Vessel Of Hatred, Introduces New Playable Class

The first expansion for action RPG Diablo 4 is called Vessel of Hatred but it’s not due until late 2024, according to Blizzard.

The developer revealed the expansion with a quick tease at BlizzCon this weekend, with more information due next summer.

“With a campaign that continues the dark tale that began in Diablo 4, Vessel of Hatred brings players back to learn the fate of the prime evil Mephisto and his demonic plans for Sanctuary,” said Blizzard in the official press release. "Travel to the lush jungles known by the locals as Nahantu.”

It also teased a new playable class for Diablo 4, “never seen before in the Diablo universe.”

Blizzard also revealed more updates for World of Warcraft at BlizzCon, revealing new expansion The War Within, set for release in 2024 to celebrate twenty years of Warcraft.

The War Within will form part of a long-running arc labelled The Worldsoul Saga, followed by two more chapters, Midnight, and The Last Titan.

Diablo 4's Season of Blood is currently running, and it's just been Steam Deck verified for maximum enjoyment.
