This past fall, DeVonta Smith had one of the best seasons we’ve ever seen from a wide receiver in college football history. That being said, it seems like his draft stock isn’t as high as it should be.

Earlier this month, measurements for this year’s prospects were revealed. Smith surprisingly weighed in at 166 pounds, which has led to questions about whether he can handle the physicality of the NFL.

On Tuesday, Smith was on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football to discuss what his critics are saying about his frame. He made it very clear that he’s not worried about his size, saying it’s “irrelevant.”

“We play football,” Smith said. “We’re in a football business. We’re not lifting or in a body building business, it’s football, that’s what we’re here for. So that other stuff is irrelevant.”

Smith was then asked what makes him different from all the other wide receivers in this year’s draft. He made a pretty strong pitch to any team interested in selecting him on Thursday night.

“I can do everything. Inside, outside, I can do special teams. There’s nothing I can’t do. No job is too big. Wherever you want to plug me in, I can do that. I feel like that just gives me an advantage.”

During his time with the Crimson Tide, Smith had 235 receptions for 3,965 yards and 46 touchdowns. He’s the most decorated wideout in this class, that’s just a fact.

We’ll find out where Smith’s NFL career will begin later this week.
