Detroit weekend weather forecast: Rain, gray skies, 70-degree temperatures

The weekend weather forecast in southeast Michigan calls for showers, gray skies — and temperatures in the 70s which, if you like the warmer weather, is a welcome change from April.

It’s hardly anything to cause worry or celebration, the National Weather Service said Friday morning.

"It’s a fairly typical kind of early May," Kyle Klein, a meteorologist with the weather service in White Lake Township said, calling the forecast, which is more of the normal April-showers-bring-May-flowers, a "springtime-ish weather pattern."

Expect, Klein said, thundershowers to continue to sweep through the area Friday morning, move on by midday, with a chance for more storms to redevelop later, potentially in the evening, and then clear out overnight.

Saturday, he added, should be mostly dry and cloudy. The expected high is in the low 70s.

There's a chance for more rainfall on Saturday night, going into Sunday morning and afternoon. The expected high for Sunday is in the low 70s.
