LOOKING AHEAD: Your guide to Tigers Opening Day 2024: Parking, tickets, things to do, more

First-pitch weather forecast: Rainy, 45 degrees, 90% chance of rain.

Probable pitchers: Tigers RHP Casey Mize (did not pitch in 2023) vs. Mets LHP Adrian Houser (8-5, 4.12 ERA in 2023).

Tigers lineup: TBA.

Game notes: So, we're gonna try the fifth game of the season again. Tuesday's game was washed out by rain, pushing the starting pitchers back a day and creating a Thursday's afternoon tilt at Citi Field. It delays the return of Mize, the former No. 1 overall pick who missed all of last season with injuries. He successfully emerged from spring training winning one of the last spots in the rotation. Mize was 3-1 with a 2.21 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP over 20⅓ innings in Florida.
