Detroit Pistons game vs. Minnesota Timberwolves: Injury report, time, lineup and more

It hasn't been a fun season for the Detroit Pistons, and it's been an even less fun last week.

The Pistons have seen players dropping like flies with a rash of injuries recently. Last week, Isaiah Stewart (hamstring), Ausar Thompson (blood clot) and Stanley Umude (ankle) were all ruled out for the season, but that's just the start of the injury report.

In each of their last two games, the Pistons have had eight players not available to play, including Cade Cunningham, Jalen Duren and trade deadline additions Simone Fontecchio and Quinten Grimes. Fontecchio has missed the last five games, while Grimes has missed seven straight and has appeared in just six of the 22 games he's been on the Pistons.

Amidst the injuries, the Pistons have lost seven straight games.

WHERE ARE THE WINS: Detroit Pistons' chances of avoiding franchise's loss record looking grim

Prior to this most recent losing streak, the Pistons had actually won back-to-back games, first beating the Charlotte Hornets and then a depleted Toronto Raptors team. Then the Miami Heat came to town for two straight games at Little Caesars Arena, the first in which the Pistons weren't able to overcome a poor third quarter, and the second a back-breaking loss on a Bam Adebayo buzzer-beater after Cade Cunningham took a last-second shot too early in the shot clock.

That loss jumpstarted a streak of five straight defeats by at least 13 points. Ironically, the "closest" game of the stretch was the Pistons' 114-101 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans where they scored just 10 points in the first quarter, so it's tough to take many positives from that. Cunningham did not suit up for that game or the next one against the New York Knicks. He's missed three of the last five games and was a late scratch against the Pelicans. The Pistons have said he's missed the games due to "left knee management" so it's tough to say whether the team is just being careful with their star player as the season winds down or if we'll see him back on the court again soon.
