All the Details on Gwyneth Paltrow's Husband Brad Falchuk and Their Cute 'Ship
If you've arrived here lost, confused, and wondering whomst Gwyneth Paltrow is currently married to, it's understandable: She and her husband tend to keep things pretty low-key aside from the occasional extremely-loving Instagram post. But please be advised that Gwyneth—woman who uses an Academy Award as a door stop—has been married to producer Brad Falchuk since 2018. If his name sounds familiar, that's probably because you've seen it at the end of every episode of Glee. 'Cause the thing is....
Brad Is an Extremely Famous TV Producer
In fact, he and Gwyneth met when she was cast on Glee—which Brad co-created with Ryan Murphy—in 2010. But they didn't start dating at the time (she was still married to Chris Martin!), and they only officially started dating in August 2014 when a source insisted to Us Weekly that "things started off professionally" between the pair.
But friends, it's not just the likes of Glee lurking on Brad's IMDb page. This man co-created hits like Scream Queens (that's him and Gwyneth at the premiere in the photo above!) American Horror Story, and Pose.
He Grew Up in Massachusetts
According to a profile of Brad in WSJ Magazine, he grew up in Mass and his family was super accomplished in their various fields. Brad's dad went to Harvard Medical School and eventually joined its faculty; Brad's mom was president of Hadassah, the Jewish volunteer women’s organization; Brad's sister is a psychotherapist; and Brad's older brother ran Best Doctors and then pivoted and ran for governor of Massachusetts. And then there's Brad with his multiple Emmy and Golden Globes!
Ryan Murphy Introduced Him to Gwyneth
Obviously Brad and his frequent collaborator Ryan Murphy are close, and FYI that Ryan takes full credit for Brad and Gwyneth's relationship. As he put it, “They’re happier than ever. They’re both so great. If you met them, you would root for their love story. It’s quite a love story, and I’m close to both of them from different periods in my life. I introduced them, so I have particular ownership in their love story. I’m very proud of that.”
Nip/Tuck Changed His Life
Ryan was hired as a writer on Nip/Tuck in 2003, his first major show after working on Mutant X and Earth: Final Conflict. He ended up getting close to Ryan Murphy, which led to them creating Glee together. Obviously, the rest is history!
He Was Married Once Before
Brad and producer Suzanne Bukinik started dating in 1994, got married in 2002, and had two kids together before getting divorced in 2013 (about a year before he and Gwyneth got together).
Brad and Chris Martin Are Close
Which doesn't come as a huge surprise considering Chris and Gwyneth are still close, and she's super tight with his partner Dakota Johnson.
As Gwyneth told Harper's Bazaar back in 2020, "I love her. I can see how it would seem weird because it's sort of unconventional. But I think, in this case, just having passed through it iteratively, I just adore her. I always start to think of the ampersand sign—what else can you bring in, instead of being resistant to or being made insecure by? There's so much juice in leaning into something like that."
He Doesn't Use Social Media
