Deshaun Watson To Steelers? NFL World Reacts To Rumor

Former Buccaneers quarterback Shaun King may have the inside track on Deshaun Watson‘s future. According to King, the Pittsburgh Steelers could be just a few days away from landing the three-time Pro Bowler.

“Hearing if things go well Friday Deshaun Watson to the Steelers is happening soon after…” King tweeted. Tagging his VSiN colleagues and former NFL executive Michael Lombardi.

With the quarterback market starting to dry up, fans reacted to the Watson/Steelers speculation on Twitter.

“*If* this report is true (and no one else is saying it right now), then Steelers would be beating out the Panthers,” noted Steelers Depot’s Alex Kozora. “Panthers’ owner is David Tepper, former Steelers’ minority owner. Reportedly wants to make a big push to get Watson. Will Rooney/Colbert win out?”

“If we get Watson I’ll eat a jean jacket,” a Steelers fan replied.

“Yeah yeah, not happening,” another Pittsburgh fan said.

“Woahhhh what??? Ohh my godddd,” another user said. “This [expletive] is outta control. I don’t know who to believe anymore.”

“I’m a little dubious here, but interested on how this goes.”

“This would be absolutely terrible for Browns and the rest of the AFC North,” tweeted Cleveland reporter Brad Stainbrook.

“Can we get more balance?” asked podcast host Mark Gunnels. “All the young talented quarterbacks are in the AFC.”

It’s questionable whether the Steelers would want to take on the PR nightmare given the seriousness of Watson’s allegations. But if his name is cleared, Watson is one of the best young QB’s in the NFL.
