Derry Girls star Saoirse-Monica Jackson has confirmed her engagement to Scottish DJ Denis Sulta.

The actress, who plays Erin Quinn on the hit Channel 4 sitcom, shared the exciting news with an image from her fiancé's recent interview with Metal magazine.

Speaking ahead of the release of his upcoming song 'World of Flies', Sulta revealed that his engagement to Jackson was his favourite memory from 2023.

"What is your best memory looking back at the past year?" the DJ was asked, to which he replied: "The day I proposed to my fiancé Saoirse."

Whilst Jackson hasn't officially posted an announcement, she took to her Instagram Story to confirm the happy news with a snap of Sulta's comments surrounded by hearts.

2023 was a busy year for the actress, who also starred in the anticipated DC blockbuster The Flash.

The film follows superhero Barry Allen (played by Ezra Miller), who uses his powers to travel back in time to change the events of the past — which has devastating effects on the future.

Jackson played Patty, which some DC fans believed to be a nod to comic book character Patty Spivot. The film also stars Rudy Mancuso as Albert, Michael Keaton as Batman, Sasha Calle as Supergirl and Michael Shannon as returning DC villain, General Zod.
