Demon Slayer is one of the most popular anime in recent years, and it’s not hard to see why — with lovely animation and exciting action scenes, it’s certainly a spectacle to behold. The show’s fourth season is just around the corner, and now we have a release date.

Season 4 of Demon Slayer, called the Hashira Training Arc, has been announced to start airing in Japan from mid-May. It will start with a one-hour special on May 12, 2024 on Fuji TV in Japan, and subsequently will start airing weekly from May 18, according to ANN.

Anime fans were able to get their first look at Demon Slayer season 4 last month, with a compilation film in theaters showing across the world. The compilation film featured the last episode of the Swordsmith Village Arc, the third season of the anime, as well as the first episode of the fourth season.

The ending of the Swordsmith Village Arc saw Tanjiro taking down a major foe and Nezuko overcoming the effects of the sun on her. It was an exciting finale, and opened up a lot of possibilities for the series going forward.

So far, a Western release for Demon Slayer season 4 hasn’t been announced, but it’s expected that Crunchyroll will air the series subbed concurrently with the Japanese release. Previous seasons of the anime, such as the Swordsmith Village Arc, were released through this method, but we’ll be keeping an eye on it either way.

While you wait for Demon Slayer, make sure you’re not sleeping on Netflix’s new fantasy cooking anime, Delicious in Dungeon. We’ve been watching it weekly as it airs, and it’s been absolutely fantastic — especially recently, as we mentioned in our review of Delicious in Dungeon episode 9.
