  • Demi Moore just opened up about doing full-frontal nudity in her new movie The Substance.

  • The actress, 61, says it required a "level of vulnerability."

  • She's known for loving strength training and Pilates.

Demi Moore is opening up about baring it all on-screen.

The actress, 61, stars in a new movie called The Substance, which is currently getting plenty of buzz at the Cannes Film Festival. The movie tells the story of a celebrity who uses a black market drug to replicate a younger version of herself (played by Margaret Qualley).

During the film, Demi's character takes a long time to study her naked body while deciding if she'd like to pull the trigger on the procedure; when Margaret's version is subsequently "born," she, too, is nude, per Variety. But it wasn't necessarily easy to be that unguarded on-camera, according to Demi.

“Going into it, it was really spelled out—the level of vulnerability and rawness that was really required to tell the story,” she explained in a press conference, per Variety. “And it was a very vulnerable experience and just required a lot of sensitivity and a lot of conversation about what we were trying to accomplish.”

Luckily, the Ghost star said her co-star made her super comfortable.

“I had someone who was a great partner who I felt very safe with,” she continued. “We obviously were quite—naked—and we also got a lot of levity in those moments at how absurd those certain situations were.”

Demi added that, “Ultimately, it’s just about really directing your communication and mutual trust.”

During the film, Demi's character goes through a serious transformation (ultimately becoming disfigured thanks to the abuse that Margaret's version inflicts on her). But one thing is certainly clear: The actress is seriously fit.

In the past, Demi’s trainer Gregory Joujon-Roche has revealed that she does yoga and strength training moves like bicep curls and lunges, according to InStyle (via Women's Health). And in 2018, Demi shared that she had started working out again after a four-year break with the help of the Mirror workout (now known as Lululemon Studio).

Like tons of other celebs, Demi's also a fan of Pilates. In February, she casually dropped an IG photo of her doing the workout in a group class, and she looks super comfortable getting her sweat on.

Congrats on the new movie, Demi!
