Demi Moore is going viral for her very vocal introduction of Cher at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival's amFAR Gala, an annual charity event that aims to raise money for AIDS research.

A video of the 61-year-old movie star calling out an eventgoer in the crowd on Thursday, May 23, has gained a lot of attention online, with fans calling her speech everything from "iconic" to "weird."

In the clip, the Ghost actress takes the stage in an eye-catching metallic silver gown with cutouts and begins to introduce the legendary singer, who was set to perform her 1998 hit "Believe," by telling onlookers that "this is the moment we’ve all been waiting for."

Knowing what we know now, it appears that this statement was Moore's attempt to subtly hint to the attendee that they'd caught her attention–and for the wrong reason.

The Austin Powers producer went on, listing Cher's impressive lineup of awards won at the Grammys, Oscars and Emmys over her decades-long career. As she did so, though, Moore suddenly paused in the middle of her speech to lecture someone off-camera for reasons not yet made public.

"Are you an Emmy winner over there in the back of the room?" she rhetorically asked before answering her own question explicitly. "I f---ing don’t think so."

The audience roared in support of the Charlie's Angel: Full Throttle alum, who quickly got back on track by singing Cher's praises and calling her one of the "most talented, successful, and best-loved performers of all time."

Cher, 78, eventually made it out to the stage for her special performance, but Moore's critical introduction unintentionally became the focal point of online chit-chat.

"Iconic!" one X (formerly Twitter) user replied to the now-viral video.

"This is awesome," a second suggested.

"Why did she keep pausing like that?" a different user questioned. "What a weird way to introduce Cher?"

"She said, 'I will treat you like a child until you learn respect,'" a fourth joked.

"Cher is absolutely fabulous!" another cheered. "U go Demi."
