Death in Paradise series 12 spoilers follow.

Death in Paradise has teased the aftermath of Neville Parker's arrest with an exclusive teaser clip.

In last week's episode (February 10), Ralf Little's DI was accused of murder after David was found dead, leaving viewers shocked in the process.

With the story set to continue tonight (February 17), the BBC has teased details of further developments in the storyline with a short clip.

In the teaser, the visiting DI Flitcroft has a tough conversation with Commissioner Selwyn Patterson (Don Warrington), who urges neutrality in the matter.

Flitcroft insists that the physical evidence against Neville is "beyond damning" and frankly encourages the commissioner to find another suspect for David's murder, if he truly believes Neville has been framed.

Producer Tim Key had previously hinted at the developments in the closing episodes of Death in Paradise series 12, assuring audiences that there would be some surprises in store.

"It's going to be interesting. Everything in this series is going in directions that people won't expect. I think that's a fair thing to say," he said.

With the 12th series of the main show nearing its conclusion, the first trailer for spin-off series Beyond Paradise was released last week, with the clip showing DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) as he relocates to Devon.

Key and fellow producer Tony Jordan recently explained that the spin-off will be slightly different from the main show, telling Digital Spy and other press: "We're not purposely avoiding comparisons, because there will always be comparisons, but we're doing things that will make it a different show.

"We're not ruling out murders and we'll have them when someone kills someone! Then Humphrey will investigate it," he continued.

"But we want to do different types of crime because that's really interesting. It allows you to go to different places and stops you from being tied so rigidly to a certain format."

Death in Paradise series 12 airs on Friday nights on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer. A spin-off, Beyond Paradise, premieres on Friday, February 24.
