DC and Marvel are bundling dozens of rare comic books together in two DC Marvel crossover omnibus collections spanning 40 years of stories. The two superhero collections, called DC Versus Marvel Omnibus and DC/Marvel: The Amalgam Age Omnibus respectively, will appear in comic stores beginning Aug. 6, 2024, with over two dozen stories and exclusive covers you won’t find anywhere else.

Both collections feature stories from Dennis O’Neil, George Perez, Dan Jurgens, Chris Claremont, and Walter Simonson, among many others. These crossovers are a rarity in the comic book world, not because there aren’t many – quite the opposite – but because DC and Marvel stopped printing them over a decade ago. You can find them secondhand online or perhaps, if you’re lucky, for high prices in specialty stores, but they aren’t widely available anymore.

The DC Versus Marvel Omnibus pulls together collections published between 1976 and the early 2000s, including among many others:

  • Batman/Captain America #1

  • Batman/Daredevil #1

  • Batman/Punisher: Lake of Fire #1

  • Batman/Spider-Man #1

  • Daredevil/Batman #1

  • DC Special Series #27

  • Darkseid vs. Galactus: The Hunger #1

  • Green Lantern/Silver Surfer: Unholy Alliances #1

The Amalgam Age Omnibus throws in some even more unlikely combinations – Lobo the Duck and Howard, anyone? – and features:

  • DC Versus Marvel #1-4

  • DC/Marvel: All Access #1-4

  • Unlimited Access #1-4

  • Bat-Thing #1

  • Bruce Wayne: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. #1

  • Bullets and Bracelets #1

  • Challengers of the Fantastic #1

  • Doctor Strangefate #1

  • Iron Lantern #1

  • Legends of the Dark Claw #1

  • Lobo the Duck #1
