New DC Comics: Guy Gardner And The Flash Star In Rom-Com Special

February is here, and that means another round of new DC comics is hitting store shelves. It’s a big week for DC, with some new runs in the mix vying for comic book fans’ attention. This week’s comics are very diverse, with a mashup of serious and comedic stories.

Jason Todd headlines his comic with Red Hood: The Hill #0, which collects Red Hood: Outlaw #51 and #52 in the aftermath of the Joker War. It’s not a new story by any means, but it’s nice to see the spotlight back on Todd. Too serious for you? Let’s switch gears to Scooby-Doo’s team-up with Batman. The Dark Knight is teaming up with Mystery Inc. in The Batman and Scooby-Doo Mysteries #2 to figure out who’s haunting Gotham citizens at Slaughter Swamp.

Fans of Superman’s first big-budget feature film can look forward to Superman 78: The Metal Curtain #4 which sees the hero go up against Metallo. Of course, no Superman story feels complete without Lex Luthor pulling the strings, and that’s evident with the comic’s cover. But enough about Batman and Superman, what about Fire and Ice? The dynamic duo’s friendship is tested as they battle for the residents of Smallville in Fire and Ice: Welcome to Smallville #6, the finale of their series.

If you’ve been playing Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and are craving a new story with Arkham’s twisted inmates, look no further than Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum #1. The five-issue series is an official prequel to the video game that sees Amanda Waller setting the asylum free to find the right candidates for the Squad. Each issue will contain a digital code to redeem DLC content in the game, with a Mr. Zsasz digital doll attached to issue #1.

And finally, with Valentine’s Day coming up soon, you might be in the mood for love. DC knows that and will have you covered with How To Lose A Guy Gardner In 10 Days #1. The comic sees eight romantic stories featuring Plastic Man, Batgirl, The Flash, Guy Gardner and more. The rom-com comic will take inspiration from classic films like 50 First Dates, You’ve Got Mail, and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
