Dax Shepard Admitted on His Podcast That He “Hates” When Lori Loughlin’s Name Comes Up

Dax Shepard is no stranger to rubbing elbows with celebrities, but the podcast host just admitted he hates bringing up a certain Full House alum.
On September 26, the actor’s podcast Armchair Expert featured former iCarly actor Jennette McCurdy as she talked about her memoir. Following the interview—around the 01:17 timestamp—the cohosts randomly mentioned the clothing brand Mossimo, which led Dax to associate the conversation with the designer’s (Mossimo Giannulli) wife, Lori Loughlin.
Dax seemed ready to skip over the When Calls the Heart actor. But one cohost confused the designer’s marital status with another Full House star, Ashley Olsen, which prompted a chorus of nos from the cohosts as Dax jumped in. “No, [it’s] Aunt Becky, who I worked with, and I love her,” he said on the podcast. “And I hate when we talk about her, Lori Loughlin.”
The Punk’d star added, “I hate when her name comes up ’cause I’m supposed to say, ‘Naughty her. Shame on her for this school scandal.’ But I worked with her and I really liked her a lot.”
“Can’t you say both?” a cohost chimed in. “Well, I just did!” Dax responded. “More than she was nice, I like her. Right?” Although the conversation lasted less than a minute, listeners easily picked up on the reference to Lori’s notable past in the press for a 2019 college admissions scandal that involved her daughter Olivia Jade.
The outcome involved a tumultuous time for the star as she and her husband spent time in federal prison. It effectively ended her time on the Hallmark Channel as the network cut all ties with Lori and subsequently brought to a halt her starring role on When Calls the Heart. Since then, however, she’s returned onscreen, including for her debut on When Hope Calls with the GAC Family network, a Hallmark competitor.
What’s more, it seems like Dax isn’t the only one to show support: Full House costar John Stamos recently performed with the Beach Boys as the former Hallmark actor, or “old friend,” as John referenced her, joined onstage. The pair danced alongside each other, and the actor even took to Instagram to share the moment.
Although Dax and Lori haven’t appeared in any public photos together or spoken about each other in the press, the Armchair Expert host’s fondness toward the actor stretches back years. If you’re wondering where their friendship started, the two worked with each other on the set of the 2009 film Old Dogs, starring John Travolta and Robin Williams. While both played supporting roles, it seemingly was enough to kindle a decades-long connection.
