Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell Respond to Rumors That They Host Hollywood Orgies
There are many legends about celebs lurking in the hallowed and definitely haunted halls of Pop Culture Internet™, but one that simply won't die a death? Rumors that Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell are swingers who host A-list orgies. Which, totally love that for them if true! However, turns out this is...very much not true.
The couple addressed the wildest rumors they've heard about themselves during Monday's Armchair Expert podcast, when Dax said “There was one that said we hosted orgies or swingers parties."
Kristen then noted "I know exactly where that came from. It’s because you frequently make key party jokes. We’ll have a dinner party or something, and as we’re sitting down, you’ll say, 'Everybody leave your keys.''
Dax admitted to making the joke—including to guests on his podcast—saying “Some of them, I realize afterwards, 'Oh, we do not have the same sense of humor.' I was like 'Hey, if you guys are ever in L.A. and you wanna swing.....'"
Kristen went on to say “A lot of people don’t get jokes. That’s actually something I have been thinking about lately, because it’s such a bummer that everything you say has to be taken so literally that there’s no room for fun in expression or language anymore when you’re telling a story, because you better have the facts right."
Welp. Guess we can all put this rumor to bed (heh) now.
