Dawn Staley and the South Carolina women’s basketball team signed three Class of 2023 recruits on Wednesday.

The Gamecocks inked guard Tessa Johnson, forward Chloe Kitts and wing Sahnya Jah on Wednesday’s signing day.

Johnson, a 5-foot-10 guard out of Albertville, Minnesota, was the first player to sign her letter of intent and officially join USC’s class, and she ranks as the No. 25 player in the Class of 2023 in ESPN’s recruiting rankings. She posted 23.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game in her junior season at Saint Michael Albertville.

“Tessa is a well-rounded player who uses her perimeter ability and size to play multiple positions,” Staley said in a statement on Johnson’s signing. “She is a proven perimeter scorer at three levels. We anxiously await her skill set that allows her to not only complement but elevate her future Gamecock teammates’ play.”

The five-star Kitts slots in as the highest-rated recruit for the Gamecocks, ranking at No. 17 in ESPN’s rankings. The 6-foot-2 forward starred at Faith Christian Academy in Florida and should provide some length in the frontcourt for USC.

“Chloe is a fierce competitor who has versatility at both ends of the floor,” Staley said in a USC release. “We are super excited to add her skill set, toughness and scoring ability in a Gamecock uniform soon.”

Staley also added wing to the class in the form of Jah, who hails from Montverde, Florida. The 6-foot-1 athletic perimeter player ranks as ESPN’s No. 40 recruit.

“Sahnya is incredibly athletic,” Staley said in a statement. “She’s fearless, competitive and a true winner. Her ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball will have all of Gamecock nation rocking in Colonial Life Arena next season.”

Staley’s Gamecocks opened the season with a 101-31 win over visiting East Tennessee State on Monday and will travel to Maryland on Friday for a premium showdown.

South Carolina is still in the mix for multiple five-star prospects, including Cassandre Prosper (Canada, Saturday).

The nation’s No. 1 recruit, Juju Watkins, has South Carolina in her final group and is expected to announce a decision next week, per ESPN.
