David Foster and Katharine McPhee Have Another Grandchild on the Way

Katharine McPhee and David Foster visit the SiriusXM Studio on November 14, 2023, in Los Angeles, Calif.

David Foster's family is expanding.

On Thursday, Nov. 23, Erin Foster, the 41-year-old daughter of the Grammy winner and his second wife, Rebecca Dyer, announced that she is expecting her first child with husband, Simon Tikhman.

Alongside a photo that showed off her baby bump, Erin wrote on Instagram, "It feels like we need something positive right now, so I’d like to offer something. I’m pregnant!"

It didn't take long for Foster's famous friends to send well wishes. For instance, former stepsister Gigi Hadid—whose mom Yolanda Hadid was married to David between 2011 and 2017—wrote, "YAY!!!!!"

Friends star Courteney Cox commented, "Erin!! I am so happy for you two!! This is the best news ever ♥️♥️♥️."

Mad Men alum January Jones also penned, "Congratulations!!!❤️❤️❤️."

Erin's bundle of joy will be David's eighth grandchild. David himself has six children, welcoming his youngest child, son Rennie David, with fifth wife Katharine McPhee in February 2021.

And it sounds that young Rennie has already followed in his father's musical footsteps. In October, Katharine gave a "really impressive" update on her son's budding drumming skills.

"I would say that the drumming thing has been a continuous theme in his life since he was 14 months," Katharine told E! News, "but he's hit another level in his drumming that is really impressive."

She continued, "People have been more impressed than I think we have been. We're like, 'Oh yeah, he really loves it. It's good. We don't know if it'll be a real thing.' But now I'm going, 'Hmmm, this might be a real thing.'"

Perhaps Rennie can start a band with his new niece or nephew? Only time will tell.
