David Boreanaz Shares His Grief After Death of 'Bones' Co-Star Ryan O'Neal

David Boreanaz is mourning the loss of his former Bones co-star Ryan O'Neal, who died at the age of 82 on Friday, Dec. 8.
Boreanaz, 54, took to Instagram after hearing the news on Friday to express his grief and honor the legacy of his friend and colleague.
"R.I.P. my friend," the actor wrote on his Instagram Story, along with two emojis depicting a sad face and praying hands.
His post also featured a smiling, black-and-white photo of O'Neal, under which Boreanaz added the word, "Icon."
Boreanaz played FBI Special Agent Seely Booth on the police procedural for over a decade. O'Neal portrayed Max Keenan on the forensic series, appearing in 24 episodes from 2006 to 2017, per IMDB.
News of O'Neal's death was confirmed on Friday evening by his son, Patrick O'Neal, who revealed via Instagram that his dad "passed away peacefully" earlier in the day.
As noted in Patrick's post, the late Love Story actor had "his loving team by his side supporting him and loving him as he would us."
In addition to Patrick, O'Neal was a father to four other children, including his daughter Tatum O'Neal, with whom he appeared in 1973's Paper Moon.
Tatum, 60, is one of two kids O'Neal shared with his first wife, actress Joanna Moore, in addition to son Griffin O'Neal, 59. The Peyton Place actor was also married to Patrick's mother, actress Leigh Taylor-Young, prior to their divorce in 1974.
He also famously dated Farrah Fawcett, with whom he welcomed son Redmond James Fawcett O'Neal, age 38.
In addition to his kids, O'Neal is also survived by five grandchildren.
