Davante Adams Reveals If Aaron Rodgers Will Impact Contract Talks
Last season, Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams cemented themselves as the most dangerous quarterback-wide receiver tandem in the NFL. Adams is trying not to stress too much about what Rodgers holdout means, though he admits it may play a factor in his own contract talks.
In a wide-ranging interview with Fox News, Adams said that there is no animosity between the Green Bay Packers locker room and Rodgers. “I back him and I support him whatever he does,” Adams said. “It’s just kind of how we get down.”
He admits that he’s “praying” that Rodgers returns, but the team is allowing the superstar quarterback to work through stuff at his own pace. There has been no “negative talk” in the locker room about the reigning MVP, Adams says.
Adams is entering the final year of a four-year, $58 million contract. He’s more than lived up to it over the last few years, and should be set for a massive new deal. The question is: will he sign it with the Packers, especially if Rodgers goes through with forcing a move at some time over the next year?

“That’ll play into it,” Adams admitted, speaking to Fox News’ Paulina Dedaj. “But there’s been talks, just really talks, but we haven’t really done anything or talked about anything that’s worth mentioning.
“It’s kind of just been the beginning stage of talking, and we’ll figure out what happens. Hopefully, something gets figured out, but I’m just there to play ball either way. That stuff will take care of itself eventually.”
For Adams, the main focus is finally getting over the NFC Championship Game hump, and winning a Super Bowl.
The focus for Adams is simple: “Looking for a Super Bowl.”
“I’ve been to four NFC Championship games and I have no Super Bowl appearances … That’s the ultimate goal.”
Davante Adams tore up the league in 2020, catching 115 passes for 1,374 yards and 18 touchdowns, despite missing two games. He’ll be a huge factor once again, whether Rodgers returns before the season, or the Packers are breaking in Jordan Love.
Spotrac puts his value in the open market at four-years, ~$100 million. With another big year, there’s a fair chance he could become the league’s highest paid receiver.
